FILM PRODUCTION

The production of polypropylene film is executed in the Film Division of Gradisca d’Isonzo (GO), where a tenter frame coextrusion plant is operative.
The process consists in melting a resin in polypropylene granules by means of a coextrusion system that converts it into a plastic mixture, which is then transferred to a draw-plate through which a very thin film comes out. This film is then stretched lengthwise and transversally (bi-oriented).
Films in 12 to 50 microns thicknesses are obtained with different mechanical characteristics, according to the additives mixed simultaneously.
